IR spectra of photopolymerized [C.sub.60] films: Experimental and density functional theory study
Article Abstract:
Infrared (IR) spectroscopy in combination with quantum chemical calculations of the IR vibrational frequencies and intensities are used to determine the composition of the polymerized [C.sub.60] films obtained by the method of simultaneous deposition and ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Although vibrational frequencies of different [C.sub.60] phases are similar in most cases, several unique spectral features of the [C.sub.60] dimer and other polymers were found, which might be used to determine the composition of the polymerized [C.sub.60] film.

Relaxation dynamics of 2,7- and 3,6-distyrylcarbazoles in solutions and in solid films: Mechanism for efficient nonradiative deactivation in the 3,6-linked carbazole
Article Abstract:
The time-resolved spectral investigations of two distyrylcarbazole derivatives, 2,7- and 3,6- distyrylcarbazole, in dilute toluene solution and in solid films mixed with poly(methyl methacrylate) was performed. The investigation reveals that the experiments on femtosecond fluorescence allows to distinguish crucial relaxation processes in the excited state for a profound understanding of the details of vibrational and electronic relaxations of 3,6- distyrylcarbazole in solution.
